St. Jude Trike-A-Thon

Cancer Changes Everything!

St. Jude, founded in 1962, is a pediatric treatment and research facility focused on children’s catastrophic diseases, particularly leukemia and other cancers. The hospital costs about $2.8 million a day to run, but patients are not charged for their care.  We at Dean Home Supply + Service Co. love children and believe in the mission of St. Jude.  Every fundraising dollar raised helps ensure families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.  In order to support this misssion, we are launching our first annual trike-a-thon to benefit St. Jude.  DEAN's will be matching all donations raised, dollar for dollar.  Our goal is to provide chemotherapy for a child for one day ($1,800).  

Originally, our plan was to host the event at our Hollywood location.  We had grand plans for a fair like event with fun activities and food to round out the day.  Covid changed that.  Undetered, we determined to host our first trik-a-thon virtually, trusting God to work out the details.  Your 'littles' will still gather pledges from friends and family for each loop they ride (or a flat donation).  What is different is parents will set up a course in their driveway for their kids to ride their bikes and count the number of loops ridden.  As normal, parents will help the children follow-up with those that made pledges, letting them know the exciting news of how many laps were completed.

 Please RSVP today and share our event with your friends and family!  Once you RSVP we will mail you a trik-a-thon packet including pledge form, bike safety coloring book, bike stickers, prize sheet, and a gift certificate for an ice cream cone from AWESOMELY YUMMY BREWSTERS:)  Your child's name will also be entered in a drawing for a St. Jude doctor costume!

Have fun getting creative decorating your course, trik, and/or helmet and share pictures of your kiddos tagging us at #deanstorytime.  We want to share in the excitement of the day!

Getting creative means this event does not have to be limited to children!!!  Adults are encouraged to sign up and adapt their course.  You could bike, walk, or run a course, gathering pledges per loop or a flat donation.  Let your imagination run wild and share your ideas with us on fb and insta.
